UID (Unique Item Identification):

The UID application within the Department of Defense represents an exciting new market application for Metalphoto Photo Anodized Aluminum.  The governing UID marking specification for U.S. Military property is MIL-STD-130N which states:

"Identification plates, tags or labels shall be as permanent as the normal life expectancy of an item and capable of withstanding the environmental tests and cleaning procedures specified for the items to which they are affixed."  

The requirement for permanency leads directly to Metalphoto which has been the "go-to" option for durable labels and nameplates for more than fifty years.  The durability for which Metalphoto is known is derived from the fact that it's silver halide image is permanently sealed within the anodic layer, making it virtually impervious to chemicals, heat, abrasion, salt spray, UV and outdoor weathering.
