Intermodal

Intermodal freight transport involves the transportation of freight in an intermodal container or vehicle, using multiple modes of transportation (rail, ship, and truck), without any handling of the freight itself when changing modes. The nature of the industry is such that it creates an extreme set of label and marking challenges in that Intermodal equipment and containers are subject to a multi-year, never-ending cycle of extreme conditions inclusive of heat, cold, weathering, salt spray and sunlight.
Metalphoto was created to meet these challenges and to outperform all other printing and marking methods. Metalphoto outperforms even etched stainless steel with extended exposure to sun and salt. That’s why the U.S. Navy has specified Metalphoto since 1958.
From ship markings and container identification to trains, cranes and truck chassis; if a permanent mark is needed to be both legible and functional for the life of the part, especially if a barcode is required, Metalphoto is the perfect choice.
